Students gain real-world design experience in Adobe Creative Cloud class
Professor Kelly Kruse connected students in her Adobe Creative Cloud class with directors from over 20 Wisconsin communities, offering a rare opportunity to develop both technical and client communication skills.
Communities featured in this initiative included: Fond du Lac, Menomonie, Sheboygan Falls, Whitewater, Rib Lake, Prairie du Chien School District, Jefferson County, Ashland, Potosi, DeSoto, Lynxville, New Glarus, On Broadway (Green Bay), Belleville, Waupun, Mukwonago, Rice Lake, La Crosse, and Port Washington.
“This project not only improved their design skills, but it taught them how to work with real clients — including how to take feedback, meet deadlines, and deliver professional materials,” said Prof. Kruse. “The enthusiasm from the communities was overwhelming. Directors were excited to collaborate and see what our students could bring to the table.”
“This is exactly the kind of experience that sets Carthage students apart,” Prof. Kruse added. “It builds portfolios, strengthens confidence, and prepares them for the kinds of real-world challenges they’ll face after graduation — from rewarding collaborations to the more difficult client interactions.”
This innovative project exemplifies Carthage College’s commitment to hands-on learning and professional preparation, empowering students to graduate with more than just a degree — they leave with experience, confidence, and a competitive edge.
