Writers in Context
This short-term study abroad course offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the cultural, historical, and geographical contexts of English literature. We will stroll beside the Thames with Charles Dickens and around the Royal Crescent with Jane Austen. We will explore the Bodleian Library with Virginia Woolf and marvel at Shakespeare’s Globe. We will experience Banksy’s Bristol, the dreaming spires of Oxford, and the Roman Baths. Our home base will be glorious London, where we will learn to navigate one of the great cities of the world, taking advantage of all it has to offer beyond the page.
