Carthage Athletics is partnering with the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha to offer “Train Like a Firebird: Ember’s Sports Clinics,” a new series of free 90-minute sessions for children in grades 1-8.

Carthage College Athletics is teaming up with the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha to bring FREE sports clinics to grade school athletes. Each clinic will focus on a different sport and feature age-specific instruction, giving participants the chance to develop skills, build confidence, and experience the teamwork and energy of Firebird Athletics.

The program is open to all children, whether they’re new to sports or already seasoned players. Clinics take place at the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha, 1330 52nd St. in Kenosha. 

Clinic Schedule:

Sept. 13, 2025 – Girls’ Basketball
Oct. 18, 2025 – Boys’ Basketball
Nov. 15, 2025 – Boys’ Volleyball
April 11, 2026 – Football
April 18, 2026 – Boys’ Soccer
April 25, 2026 – Girls’ Soccer
May 2, 2026 – Girls’ Volleyball Clinic

Times:

10-11:30 a.m. — Grades 1 & 2
Noon-1:30 p.m. — Grades 3 & 4
2-3:30 p.m. — Grades 5 & 6
4-5:30 p.m. — Grades 7 & 8

“‘Train Like a Firebird’ is about more than just sports,” said Ryan Kane, director of athletics at Carthage. “It’s about creating meaningful connections between Carthage and our community, and helping kids see what’s possible when they’re encouraged.”

Space is limited, so families should sign up for the free clinics to reserve their child’s spot.
