The Center for Faith and Spirituality is collecting backpacks (new or like new) and school supplies for our Chapel Night Live student service project.

At the event, Carthage students will help us fill backpacks with school supplies that will support the work of the ELCA Outreach Center in Kenosha to children and families. Filled backpacks will be delivered to the center Thursday, Aug. 28, the week before schools open in Kenosha.

Along with backpacks, we are also collecting:

  • wide-rule notebook paper packs
  • wide-rule spiral notebooks (70 sheet)
  • pencil/supply pouches or boxes
  • scissors
  • glue sticks
  • rulers
  • pencils and pens
  • 24 pack crayons
  • 12 pack colored pencils
  • pencil sharpeners
  • pink erasers
  • 8 pack washable markers
  • various colored pocket folders
  • (basically anything on the KUSD school supply list)

This is a great opportunity to involve our students in an act of service as they start the year!  All items should be dropped off to the Center for Faith and Spirituality no later than Monday, Aug. 25.
