On May 5, the spring semester Issues of Living and Dying class concluded with a special Dinner with Death event — a final integrative experience.

Students having a discussion over a meal. Each student brought a guest with whom they shared what they had been learning throughout the semester. It was a meaningful time to reflect on the mystery of death and the beauty of life, grounded in theological and religious perspectives.

The dinner created a powerful space for conversation, where guests engaged in open dialogue and thoughtful questions.

As the quote reminds us: “We only die once, but we live every day.” This evening reminded us to embrace each day with intention, compassion, and presence.

Special thanks to Ashlie Leyva Verdugo, Tim Olbrich, Gloria Cairo, and Esteban Lang for their invaluable help in making this experience possible, as well as all the students who journeyed through this course with such openness, courage, and care.
