Graphic design students headed to Milwaukee to learn about campaigns created by local agencies.

Students at Cramer-Kresslet.Students started their day at Cramer-Kresslet Marketing, Advertising, and Communication Agency, where seven staff creatives walked the students through the process of how projects are made for clients. First, they outlined the creative process of a campaign for Emplify Health. Part of this campaign was the amazing “Little Empathy“ animated short. They also laid out a campaign for a series of very creative and quirky “Yardiology” designs and commercials for Echo tools.

Cramer-Kresslet is one of the largest independent agencies in the US, with nearly $50 million revenue and more than 80 percent of that revenue coming from digital and social.

We’re more than integrated. We’re totally interconnected to optimize and synergize every marketing effort for maximum engagement and impact. With a mission to Make Friends, Not Ads®, C-K has built a reputation for changing perceptions and behaviors. It’s how we helped Porsche achieve more than a dozen years of record-breaking sales and how Corona beer got to be one of the top imports. We provide strategic branding, social, creative, digital, analytics, media strategy and investment, e-commerce, programmatic UX, influencer management and more.” (Cramer-Kresslet website.)

In the afternoon, students headed over to Boelter + Lincoln Advertising Agency, where alumnus Bryce Ulmer ’10 works as an art director. Mr. Ulmer walked students through his career path and then described his work for the Milwaukee County Transit System. The concept and depth of this campaign was amazing to see.

We are creative problem solvers interested in results. For us, creativity isn’t the goal, it’s part of the journey. Our aim is more than just creating an emotional response; it’s turning that response into action and ultimately devotion. In short, we put creativity to work. Our areas of expertise in marketing communications include travel & tourism, food & beverage, manufacturing, health care, and financial industries.” (Boelter + Lincoln website.)
