Biography
Sarah Magallon has experience in crisis counseling, private practice, school-based mental health counseling, and community mental health services. She has a focus in counseling individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, and complex trauma.
Prior to becoming a counselor, Mrs. Magallon worked at a psychiatric hospital on all units (children, adolescence, and adult) as a behavior technician, as well as working in the pharmaceutical industry for 20 years.
Mrs. Magallon is originally from Kentucky and has lived all over the United States during her husband’s military career. She and her family decided to make Kenosha their home in 2013 and have enjoyed living here ever since!

Main responsibilities at Carthage
Mrs. Magallon provides short-term solution-focused counseling to students seeking help for various presenting concerns, such as anxiety, stress, depression, identity exploration, interpersonal relationship concerns, and more. She meets with students, faculty, and staff for consultations around mental health and wellness. She is a confidential resource for students.
Favorite thing about working at Carthage
Mrs. Magallon enjoys the lake view and getting a front row seat to student experiences and growth, as well as an overall sense of community on campus.
Other interests?
Mrs. Magallon enjoys spending time with her family and pets, and enjoying a variety of events throughout Kenosha and Kenosha County. She likes reading, watching true crime documentaries, playing with her son, and enjoying new music with her husband. She also enjoys being outdoors, even in the winter, learning, and getting to meet new people.
