Majoring in secondary education with a minor in political science, Nicholas Murray ’26 enjoys the community built by professors and students in the departments at Carthage. Their support has been instrumental as he progresses toward his goal of being a political science teacher. On campus, Nicholas is actively involved in Model United Nations, where he’s created strong bonds with his peers and gained unique travel experiences, such as going to a conference in Singapore. “It’s a great group of people, and I’ve had awesome opportunities to travel,” he says.

Favorite class
“My favorite class has been Issues in United States History with Professor Dave Gardner. The class culture was fantastic. Prof. Gardner’s assignments were straightforward and really made me think, and he always drove us to be better than we were.”
Unique opportunities
“During J-Term, I took an awesome class called the Psychology of Magic. I got to go to class and learn all about how magic and the mind works. It was so much fun!”
Favorite memory
“The late-night hangouts after one of my clubs. The community and memories will last a lifetime.”
