“I’ve enjoyed meeting all of the people I’ve gotten close to, participating in the extracurricular activities here on campus, and networking during our Spotlight on Sports panels.”

Why Carthage?

“I chose Carthage because of the scholarship opportunities that were offered to me. It is also close to home and right in the middle of Milwaukee and Chicago, so there are opportunities for good internships or jobs.”

Faculty mentors

“The faculty have made a big impact. They are very persistent and help me with classes, give life advice, and provide internships and career opportunities.”

Favorite class

“Sports Marketing with Professor Carter Rockhill has been my favorite class because it mixes my passions for marketing and design within the sports industry. It was a very fun experience, and Prof. Rockhill brings great insight into the steps to enter the sports business.”

Toughest class

“My toughest classes have been Human Anatomy and French. I took these courses to step out of my comfort zone. These classes have been a great learning experience outside of my major and the languages I can speak.”

Campus involvement

“I am currently the President of Delta Omega Nu, a social and service fraternity chapter on campus. I am also a part of Pi Sigma Epsilon, The Front Office, and the Rock Climbing Club.”

Internships or campus employment

“I am a fan service team member for the Chicago Bears NFL team and a videographer for Overtime. For the Bears, I help market the team and guide fans through Halas Hall during training camps and Soldier Field for every home game played, bringing fans a top-of-the-line experience. These positions have helped shape my interests in the sports industry and create lifelong relationships.”

Best study tip

“Try to find time to study the material taught in class for about an hour or so each day. Have a good format for your note-taking, and utilize the resources on campus — including the tutors, The Writing Center, professors, and even friends willing to help you.”

Best tip for making friends

“Be nice and introduce yourself to people. Joining clubs and Greek Life on campus has definitely been some of my favorite ways to make friends.”

Advice for other students in your major?

“Never be afraid to ask questions, always seek out networking opportunities, reach out to people in the field you want, and consider taking courses outside of Carthage to help develop your skill set and resume. Do what makes you happy in life.”

What would your 8-year-old self think of you now?

“He would be very proud and excited to see where I am in life right now.”
