Why Carthage?

“The main reason I chose Carthage is because it’s so close to my home. Also, I think the campus grounds look really nice to the eye, especially with the lake backdrop!”

Faculty mentors

“The faculty here are all very nice and accommodating! I’ve never run into a problem I couldn’t talk through with my professors, especially with the extenuating circumstances that can come with being a commuter and working off campus.”

Favorite class

“My favorite class so far would have to be Intellectual Foundations; it’s a very different approach to learning than just being good at memorization and has helped me learn better techniques to ask questions and further learn the basic roots of a subject or an idea!”

Toughest class

“The biology class Molecules, Cells, and Organisms was the toughest so far for me. The workload was challenging but never impossible. It made me change how I study and take notes in better ways, and I learned studying skills I can carry forward onto harder classes.”

Career goal

“I aspire to become a doctor one day to help everyone I can, both inside the hospital and outside. Like the superheroes that inspire me to do my best every day, I want to show up and prove that anything you aspire to do is possible!”

Favorite spot on campus

“My favorite spot on campus is any place that has a chair to sit, something to put a laptop and assignments on, and a charger outlet nearby. A spot to sit, chill, and study.”

Best study tip

“Listening to the audiobook version while simultaneously reading a textbook or novel has helped me understand and pay attention to what I’m reading!”
