Strategic HR visionary, educator, and change agent Breanne McGuire is a seasoned HR leader with over 15 years of experience in total rewards, compensation, benefits, payroll, and HRIS.

She currently serves as the head of compensation and benefits at HARIBO, where she drives enterprise-level strategies across compensation structures, system implementations, and compliance initiatives. Known for her analytical mindset and collaborative leadership, Ms. McGuire excels at translating complex data into executive-level insights, guiding everything from global job frameworks to benefit renewal transformations and pay transparency compliance. She’s also led multiple full-suite UKG implementations and is passionate about using technology and AI to drive efficiency in HR.

Outside the corporate sphere, Ms. McGuire is an adjunct professor who brings real-world HR expertise into the classroom, designing engaging, experiential learning for students on topics like emotional intelligence, legal compliance, and performance appraisals. Whether she’s coaching students through mock interviews or designing strategic PTO comparisons across countries, she delivers with clarity, care, and a sharp understanding of today’s workforce realities.

A lifelong learner, she aligns her future goals with the evolving intersection of HR, systems, and AI. When she’s not streamlining processes or mentoring the next generation of HR leaders, Ms. McGuire keeps things dynamic — traveling internationally, exploring local culture and cuisine, and dreaming up creative side hustles. She brings a rare blend of operational rigor, people-first thinking, and big-picture vision to every challenge she takes on.

Hear from Prof. McGuire: Why Human Resources?

“I love human resources because it’s where strategy meets humanity. Behind every policy, system, and compensation model is a person trying to thrive at work — and I get to build the structures that make that possible. Whether it’s designing equitable pay programs, leveraging technology to improve workflows, or creating benefits that truly support people’s lives, I see HR as a way to drive business results and make work better for real people.

Teaching allows me to pay that forward. Sharing what I’ve learned in the field helps students connect textbook theory to the real-world complexity of HR. I’m especially drawn to those lightbulb moments — when students realize how impactful their future roles can be. My goal is to prepare them in not just landing a job, but in leading with empathy, insight, and integrity from day one. HR has given me a career with purpose, and teaching gives me the joy of helping others find theirs”
