“College athletics is a whole different level — a grind — but with the people surrounding you at Carthage, it’s so worth it.”

Why I chose Carthage

“I chose Carthage because the moment I set foot on campus, I felt an instant connection. From the beginning, I felt welcomed and still do till this day.”

What it means to be a Firebird

“Being a Firebird means being part of something bigger than myself. It means carrying a sense of pride, responsibility, and commitment every time I put on my jersey. As a Firebird, I represent not just my team, but the entire Carthage community on and off the court.”

My favorite team memory

“I have great memories of traveling to Puerto Rico and winning games there!”

What makes the student-athlete community special

“The student-athlete community at Carthage is bonded and supportive. Everyone’s pushing each other to be better, not just in their sport, but in the classroom and as people.”

How I balance academics and athletics

“I balance being a student-athlete by making sure being a student always comes before being an athlete. The best thing you can do is manage your time well and make sure you take care of all your tasks before the due date.”

The support that helps me succeed

“Carthage supports me as a student-athlete in a lot of ways. Academically, the professors are super understanding with our schedules, and they’re flexible and always willing to work with us if we’re traveling. Whenever I need something, they are always willing to help! We also have resources like tutoring and academic advising that really help with balancing everything.”

My favorite athletic facility

“I love the Tarble Arena! It is where all the action happens, either practice or game days!”

How I'm involved beyond athletics

“I am involved in The Front Office here at Carthage. The Front Office is a great org for students who are passionate about pursuing a career in sports.”
