Emmitt Hansen ’27 is fully embracing his time at Carthage, making the most of every opportunity. As a dedicated member of the men’s soccer team, he is building strong, lasting friendships with his teammates. Beyond the field, Emmitt is further developing his skills as a student worker for the Athletics media team. This role allows him to merge his passion for graphic design with his love for sports, as he creates dynamic content for varsity teams.
Emmitt is also deeply appreciative to attend college in such an ideal location. “Kenosha is definitely a hidden gem,” he says. “The location is great for college students because you have easy access to super cool cities like Chicago and Milwaukee.”

“I’m on the Carthage men’s soccer team. It’s been super fun to continue playing the sport I love in college, while also building strong and lasting friendships with my teammates.”
Unique opportunities
“I was able to study abroad in Costa Rica for J-Term! We spent a couple of weeks taking pictures and discussing the biodiversity it has to offer.”
Internships or campus employment
“I work for the Carthage Athletics media team. We work to create graphics for the various varsity sports on campus, wether it’s game day graphics, final scores, or achievements.”
Favorite spot on campus
“My favorite spot on campus is the TARC. It features a gym, rock wall, basketball courts, and a ton of other features that really help with staying in shape and are great for hanging out with friends.”
Best tip for making friends
“Join as many clubs and extracurricular activities you can that align with your interests. Also, just make sure you’re putting yourself out there and are always open to trying new things”
