How did Carthage prepare you?
“My major classes for exercise science with a focus on physical education really helped me become the teacher I am. We spent a great amount of time as a class working together on fun lesson plans that were always so unique.”
What opportunities were made possible because of your Carthage experience?
“I became a certified personal trainer with the help of my classes and the knowledge I gained from them. I had great relationships with my professors while at Carthage, and their references helped me obtain many jobs. I was the Carthage group fitness instructor, The Prairie School weight room supervisor, and a coach at PlayPen Academy, where I eventually got promoted to site coordinator.”
What Carthage professors played a part in your success and how?
“The faculty helped me succeed by showing me support and understanding, no matter what. Even if I was no longer in a certain professor’s class, they were always there to help me. They really guided me with a step-by-step process for how to be successful after graduation.”
Tips for current Carthage students?
“You will meet some awesome people, and you never know when or who will end up being some of your best friends. For me, I met some of my best friends only a few months before graduating.”
