What have you enjoyed most about your career?
“I have most enjoyed the creativity and flexibility that comes with a sales career in the advertising industry. Meeting customers face to face in their places of business is exciting, and creating a relationship with them is rewarding. Each workday looks a little different and comes with challenges and projects, which I enjoy.”
How did Carthage prepare you?
“Creating relationships with my professors prepared me for crafting relationships and building trust with my customers. Leading and managing group projects also prepared me for my daily account management.”
How has your liberal arts education benefited you?

The creativity I learned in elective courses, such as Rock Climbing and Photography, helped me in the artistic aspects of my job.”
Why did you choose Carthage?
“I chose Carthage because of its small class sizes, opportunities allowing me to get to know and speak to the professors, and the beautiful lakefront location.”

“The valuable skills I learned in my business classes allowed me to compete for and get the job I currently have. I felt more prepared than other candidates from other colleges!”
What Carthage professors played a part in your success and how?
“Professor Joseph Shields encouraged me to pursue a sales career during his Personal Selling and Sales Management class. He helped me realize I could have a sales career and would thrive at one. Chatting with my professors outside of class and through Pi Sigma Epsilon activities also helped me gain knowledge that I could apply in the business world and my career.”

What's your favorite Carthage memory?
“My favorite memories include walking in the Homecoming parade with my sorority, doing late-night runs to the Campbell Student Union with my friends, and looking for sea glass along the Lake Michigan shoreline with my roommate. Carthage shaped me by giving me wonderful friends, growing my confidence, and helping me to realize my capability to lead.”
