Jordan Ball ’23 took what he learned as a computer science major at Carthage and became a technical consultant at Rockhop, specializing in helping organizations leverage the capabilities of Microsoft Power Platform tools. His role focuses on understanding his clients’ business requirements and developing custom solutions that optimize workflows, streamline processes, and enhance data analytics. Since he graduated from Carthage, Mr. Ball took his education further, receiving two Microsoft certifications: Azure AI Engineer and Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate.

How did Carthage prepare you?

“The diverse range of classes I took gave me experience in multiple areas of computer science, enabling me to quickly adapt to new technologies and the various industries my clients operate in.”

What Carthage professors played a part in your success and how?

“Professors Rick Bingen, Perry Kivolowitz, and Mark Mahoney brought a wealth of knowledge and experience across many areas of computer science. More than that, they never treated me as just another student — instead, they took me under their wing.”

Tips for current Carthage students?

“Never be afraid to ask questions. The more questions you ask, the more you can learn, and the easier it all becomes.”
