Tax Associate at Baker Tilly Advisory Group
Thanks to the mentorship of Carthage professors, Hannah Kachur ’24 was able to secure an internship at Baker Tilly Advisor Group while attending college and was able to land a permanent position at the company before graduation. Ms. Kachur is now a tax associate with the real estate and construction team at Baker Tilly, where she works with her team to prepare business tax returns for their clients.
How did Carthage prepare you?
“I always want to give all the credit to the amazing professors in the accounting and finance departments. They’re all so knowledgeable and helpful, and it’s clear that they want each of their students to succeed.”
Why did you choose Carthage?
“I chose Carthage because I was born and raised in Kenosha. I always heard great things about the opportunities at the College for current students and alumni.”
What opportunities were made possible because of your Carthage experience?
“Professor Julie Dawson told me about the internship opportunities at Baker Tilly, and it was because of those internships that I could secure a job a year before I graduated.”
What Carthage professors played a part in your success and how?
“Professors Julie Dawson, Barbara Jewell, and Mark Mrowiec in the Accounting Department were huge supporters of us students and gave us the tools and confidence we needed to succeed in our careers.”
Tips for current Carthage students?
“I think it’s important to always use the tools offered to you. Ask for help when needed, and don’t be afraid to try something new because that could bring great things to your future.”
