Why Carthage?
“I chose Carthage because I like the small class sizes. I can get to know my professors, and they can also get to know me; I can go to them whenever I need help or have questions. Also, the campus being right next to the lake is a huge bonus.”
Faculty mentors
“The faculty have had a great impact on my life. I could not imagine going to a big school with class sizes of over 50 students because they cannot get the connection with their professors like we can here. The relationships I have made with the faculty have helped me succeed because I have people I can trust whenever I need guidance.”
Campus involvement
“I’m playing softball while I am here at Carthage. I love being a part of the team because all of my teammates are so loving, caring, and so much fun.”
Career goal
“I aspire to become a sports psychologist. I have played sports my whole life, and I understand how much of a toll it can take on your mental health and well-being. I am very interested in helping other athletes who struggle with these things and get them back to enjoying being an athlete.”
Favorite spot on campus
“My favorite spot on campus is either in Hedberg Library or by the lake. I love being in the library because there are different spots you can explore to get work done. This is where I get all my homework and projects done and am able to be productive. With the Starbucks being located here, it can be a good hangout spot for study sessions with friends. The lake is my other favorite spot on campus. I love the lake because it is beautiful, and whenever I feel stressed or overwhelmed, I know I can go by it to relax.”
