Production Coordinator with Bravado International Group at Universal Music Group
Maggie Heneghan ’23 has leveraged her degrees in marketing and public relations to seize exciting opportunities in her career. Since moving to New York, Ms. Heneghan has worked at Bravado, a division of Universal Music Group, where she produces merchandise for Universal Music Group artists. Additionally, her job has allowed her to work with major record labels, collaborate with many musical artists, and work at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Carthage continues to play a significant role in Ms. Heneghan’s life. She still stays involved with the College by attending events, such as Homecoming, and keeps in touch with her sisters from Alpha Chi Omega and her college professors. “Carthage has had a lasting impact on me throughout my four years and beyond. It is truly a part of me!”
What have you enjoyed most about your career?
“Music has been a huge part of my life for many years, and what I enjoy most about my career is that I get to incorporate something that I love into my work life. I love learning as much as I can and meeting other industry creatives to hear about their stories and why they are in music.”
Why did you choose Carthage?
“I chose Carthage because of the tight-knit community I witnessed when visiting. I knew that I could be whoever I wanted to be there, and it was the right school for me. I ended up finding forever friendships and connections that I am so grateful for.”
What opportunities were made possible because of your Carthage experience?
“An opportunity for me that was made possible because of my Carthage experience was my part-time job with Warner Music Group’s College Marketing Program. By my senior year, I was doing everything possible to obtain an internship/position in the music industry, and I used all of the skills and connections Carthage had given me to get the job. It truly has made me the person I am today!”
What Carthage professors played a part in your success and how?
“Professor Colleen Palmer has played a tremendous role in my life. She taught me so much about public relations and more. She shaped my perspectives and put in the effort to get to know me as an individual. She knew what I wanted to pursue career-wise and has nonstop supported me since. I am forever grateful to her!”
What role have the values in Carthage's mission, "Seeking Truth, Building Strength, Inspiring Service — Together" played in your life?
“Carthage has given me so many opportunities and experiences reflecting these values. I always incorporate that mission into my everyday life, reflecting upon myself and others around me.”
What's your favorite Carthage memory?
“Some of my favorite Carthage memories were with my sisters in Alpha Chi Omega. This sorority shaped me into who I am today, and the friendships I have made will last a lifetime. I also loved my experience in Nicaragua during J-Term. I met so many inspirational people, and it was a trip I will never forget.”
Tips for current Carthage students?
“Truly make the best out of these four short years; they fly by! Carthage has endless opportunities for all students. Do not be afraid to open up and try something new. You will find yourself growing and finding your own confidence!”
