Becky Swambar became an EMT when she was 18 and a paramedic at the age of 22. Prof. Swambar attended CLC, where she earned her ADN, and she earned a BSN and MSN from Olivet Nazarene University. She completed her DNP from Herzing University in May 2025.
Prof. Swambar has 16 years of work experience as a level one trauma nurse, two years of critical care nursing, a year in pediatrics, and five years of hospice nursing. She began teaching at Carthage in fall 2021, teaching Fundamentals and Advanced Core clinicals. She teaches Adult Health III Clinical for Herzing University in the summer. She is also the didactic lead for NSG 4022 Complex Health Situations in Adults, clinical instructor for Complex Health, clinical instructor for Capstone and Clinical Synthesis, and Med/Surg. She has taught Didactic Pathophysiology as well as Clinical Scholarship (2022/2023). Prof. Swambar was recently promoted to Assistant Director of Nursing Clinical Operations and continues to teach NSG 4022 Complex Health Situations in Adults, NSG 4022 clinical, and Capstone.
