Veterans’ Resources: Student Life
Here at Carthage, we encourage all of our students to get involved on campus.
Participate in student organizations, attend world-class concerts, play in the orchestra, paint Kissing Rock, build a set for a play, perform improv comedy, and more — there is no limit to what you can do. What’s important is to dive in, make friends, and explore all the new ideas you’ll share.
Celebrating Our Veterans
Our community regularly acknowledges and salutes military-affiliated students. Through a regular series of arts and social events, we give a voice to veteran stories and celebrate veteran service.
The annual Alpha Chi Omega Veteran’s Breakfast is a chance to enjoy fellowship and food. Carthage also hosts an annual Veterans Breakfast for its staff and faculty.
Carthage Theatre holds a Vet Night of the Arts every year to celebrate veterans with powerful and inspired works in their honor. Throughout the night, there are staged readings, dance pieces, a print exhibit, and more.
We continue to find new ways to engage veteran and military-affiliated students, including theatre productions based on stories of service, and our Snacks for Soldiers drive to send “Care Packages” to deployed troops.

Living on campus provides some of the most memorable moments of your college experience. Carthage’s residence halls offer an exciting environment for living and learning. Our halls provide easy access to educational programs, leadership opportunities, and a full calendar of social activities.

Student Involvement
As a veteran, you may integrate fully into Carthage’s rich student life on campus. You might find yourself as a member of any one of the 130+ social and professional student organizations. Dive in and join a group, or take the lead and create a new one. You’ll make friends and have fun, all with the support of your college.

Athletics
Carthage fields 27 NCAA Division III teams and a coed varsity Esports team. Most sports compete in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. About a third of our student body participates in varsity intercollegiate athletics. Not a student-athlete and just want to have fun? Don’t worry. Fine Arts at Carthage
Carthage Fine Arts strives to provide high quality, accessible, and affordable arts programming and outreach experiences for both the Carthage community and the greater Kenosha area through diverse and masterful performances. A yearly event for veterans, Carthage Theatre’s Vet Night of the Arts showcases veteran stories and raises money for Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin, providing resources to veterans in need.
